Yushan climb :) It is sad that I stpidly booked my Taiwan tickets during the snow season of February when the main peak is closed. :(

The climb report for Mt. Kinabalu in underway, with which after the hoolaballoo that I got myself in, I was still lucky to be able to climb.

The package I got was with Mountain Torq thru Whoa Adventures for the Via Ferrata climb package, an out of the ordinary experience in the summit descent. And yes, I have been to the summit while bitterly watching those doing the Via Ferrata as they rappel down the slopes of the South Peak. I started to climb late, and arrived late, never making it to the Via Ferrata briefing cutoff of 4pm the day before the summit assault. The package set me back for a whopping RM950.

Will post the trip narrative in the next few days. BTW, just browsed through your climb logs. As the saying here in the Philippines goes, "ikaw na ang bagong idol ko" (which means you are now my new climb idol).bundoKaholicshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08899461799991385513noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006989963448766198.post-58703517013586603752011-12-21T01:13:08.816-08:002011-12-21T01:13:08.816-08:00Did you reach the summit? I would love to see it !

Personally I think 30.000 pesos was an expensive journey to Kinabalu. If you cut out those middlemen, and arrange it yourself, you could manage to get from Manila to the summit of Kinabalu and return to Manila for 10.000 pesos (not including the Pinoy traveltax, which foreigners like me don't have to pay, he-he).gfghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17933995572195887230noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006989963448766198.post-20190049479342554462011-12-10T20:07:39.339-08:002011-12-10T20:07:39.339-08:00Yes, very expensive talaga. Around RM250 din ang reg fee, pero at least hindi kasing mahal kung magoovernight.

The climb was just so and so. Yung rock formations lang ang spectacular, plus yung flora and fauna sa trail. Technical wise, wala. Bago nga ako umalis ng Pinas naghihinagpis ako kasi binibilang ko ang mga katumbas na major climbs dito sa Pinas nung budget para dito sa Kinabalu.bundoKaholicshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08899461799991385513noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006989963448766198.post-36818666875307380162011-12-10T19:42:49.087-08:002011-12-10T19:42:49.087-08:00I've been to last year, and my blog spot still...I've been to last year, and my blog spot still remains in the backlog bin. I had intended to climb, but it was just too expensive! In the weekend I was there, I just walked around, ate (loved it!) and met up with Couchsurfers :)Aleah | SolitaryWanderer.comhttp://www.solitarywanderer.com/noreply@blogger.com
