Tacloban Airport (TAC) or Daniel Z. Romualdez Airport is the gateway to Tacloban City and is located in/or near San Jose, Tacloban City.
It is named so after the former House Speaker Daniel Z. Romualdez who initiated citification of Tacloban.
It is considered as a Class 1 airport. The arrival section includes one conveyor belt for the luggages, and one fully airconditioned waiting area for both passengers of CebuPacific, PAL, AirPhil, and Zest Air. It has a small snack bar inside the waiting area, and several local food houses outside the airport.
How to get to Tacloban City proper:
There are jeepneys waiting outside of the airport, heading to downtown area. The ones inside the airport asks for a Php50.00 fare, so it is better to head outside and walk a bit for the fare is just an amount betweekn Php13.00-14.00.
In getting back to the airport from downtown, ride a jeep plying to San Jose- Airport. Fare is usually Php8.00 if from the Rotonda, or maybe Php13.00-14.00 if from downtown.
